New Lowrance HDS Series Supports Full Line of Navionics Cartography

Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance, a world-leading brand in marine electronics since 1957 and GPS navigational systems since 1992, announced today that its new High Definition System (HDS) series is compatible with Navionics full line of award-winning cartography. A truly versatile marine electronics solution, HDS allows boaters to use powerful, feature-filled charts such as Platinum+ marine charts and HotMaps Platinum lake maps. The Lowrance HDS series also incorporates the all-new TurboViewTM software, which increases the functionality and display capabilities of Navionics marine charts and lake maps. The HDS series with TurboView and Navionics cartography provide boaters with the ultimate in GPS-chartplotting capabilities.

Navionics Platinum+ marine charts, Platinum marine charts, and HotMaps Platinum lake maps provide users a wealth of sophisticated features including 3-D bathymetric views and aerial photography of ports, marinas and other points of interest. In addition, HotMaps Platinum lake maps offers Lowrance customers detailed charts of over 14,000 North American lakes and exclusive high-resolution 3-D map views of over 470 top U.S. tournament lakes and waters. Navionics charts are the most detailed and accurate charts available for chartplotters and the ideal complement to the powerful new HDS series.

Lowrance has embedded TurboView enhanced mapping software in all HDS devices. TurboView greatly improves the display of Navionics Platinum+, Platinum and HotMaps Platinum charts, and significantly enhances situational awareness. The software adds seamless zooming and transition between 2D and 3D modes for easier display and greater flexibility then ever before. Improved shadowing allows greater depth perception in both 2D and 3D modes. In addition, real-time overlays of navigational data on 3D contour profiles, and a high-speed FlyThru feature that integrates panning and zooming with detailed aerial photography, provide a truly innovative perspective for boaters.
