RACINE, Wis.–Minn
Kota introduces its most revolutionary transom-mount trolling motor to
date – Traxxis. This motor improves upon every functional aspect of the
on-the-water fishing experience. From stowing and deploying, to
steering, to adjusting the depth, every component of Traxxis has been
rethought and designed for extreme performance.
The Traxxis bracket features a groundbreaking design that sets a new
standard for stowing and deploying functionality. By simply pulling up
on the motor head, the angler can fully stow the motor with only one
hand. There are no release levers or push buttons. “In the past, many
anglers have considered transom-mount motors difficult and awkward to
operate,” said Dave Maryanov, senior product manager for Minn Kota.
“Traxxis’ one-hand stow design is smooth and easy, keeping anglers
fishing instead of fumbling with a motor.”
Traxxis utilizes a revolutionary new tiller steering mechanism that
allows the user to customize the handle to fit the way they fish. The
tiller handle tilts up to 45 degrees while simultaneously extending
from 9.25 inches up to 15.25 inches. In addition, the contoured tiller
handle is ergonomically designed for comfort.
Traxxis also has a new cam lock depth adjustment. Rather than the
typical tension knob depth control, the angler controls the motor’s
depth by flipping a lever. The cam lock provides consistent, even
pressure and won’t work itself loose over time like a tension knob can.
Once set, Traxxis’ depth remains securely fixed in place with no
slipping.
In addition, Traxxis features a new, redesigned steering tension
mechanism. Rather than using a set screw, Traxxis incorporates a collar
mechanism that allows for subtle adjustments to steering tension. When
fully tightened, the collar provides a vertical stow option for added
versatility.
Traxxis will be available to consumers in the Fall of 2008 in both
variable and 5-Speed models, thrust levels of 40, 55, 70 and 80 pounds,
and shaft lengths of 36 and 42 inches. Suggested Retail Prices range
from $212.99 to $551.99. Traxxis will be viewable on our website in
January of 2009.
